Well Hello 40!

Supermac’s are 40 this year!

Can you believe Supermac’s will celebrate our 40th year in business this summer. They are 40 years growing and still growing.

A lot has happened since the first store opened on Main St, Ballinalsoe in 1978!  In 1978 The Bee Gees were at Number 1`with ‘Stayin Alive’ and John Travolta and Olivia Newton John had just released ‘Grease’ in the cinema. Patrick Hillary was the President and Jack Lynch was An Taoiseach. The Late Late Show, Wanderly Wagon, The Riordans, Trom agus Eadrom and Sports Stadium were the main shows on TV and RTÉ launched a 2nd channel called RTÉ 2. It was also the 1st year that Coronation Street could be seen on Irish TV. Shergar won the Derby and the price of a pint of Guinness was £0.43p in old money. Kerry won the football, Cork won the hurling and Argentina won the World Cup. Hungry Hungry Hippo was the most popular Christmas present, there were 3 Popes and Pat McDonagh invented the Snack Box.

Supermac's is 40 Years Old Thank you to all our customers

Supermac’s are now Ireland’s largest chain of family restaurants and we couldn’t have done it without you. A lot of you got married because you met in Supermac’s. A lot of you put yourselves through college while working in Supermac’s and a lot of you passed through our doors because you just plain like Supermac’s. We have sponsored thousands of clubs, teams and events over the past 40 years and we are very proud of that. We are proud of the fact that we now have 107 outlets thorough the country and that we have added Papa John’s Pizza, Super Subs and Macs Place Deli to our offering and proud of the fact that we serve fresh, never frozen, 100% Irish chicken and beef.  We are proud of our Plaza’s that are spreading across the country. We are very proud of who we are and where we have come from. We are proud to have you as loyal customers. To all our customers and suppliers, THANK YOU for your support for the last 40 years…here’s to many many more!
